The EPANET user's dilemma

  • Classic EPANET is powerful — but clunky and outdated. Workarounds become your workflow — slow and cumbersome.
  • Big-name platforms look polished, but they're overpriced and bloated with features you don't need to analyze your network quickly.
  • Modern browser-based tools exist — but they force your data into the cloud, raising privacy and compliance concerns. Plus, they offer little for those doing long-term planning and analysis.

You shouldn't have to choose between speed, security, and affordability just to understand your water networks.

These storylines often focus on the emotional growth and development of the characters as they navigate the complexities of adolescence.

The rise of online video platforms has revolutionized the way we consume and interact with digital content. With the proliferation of social media, video sharing sites, and streaming services, it's become increasingly easy to access a vast array of videos, including those that might be considered "hot" or "sexy." Romantic storylines involving high school girls are rarely just about two people falling in love. They are deeply intertwined with the broader social structures of adolescence.

The visual novel and anime sensation Girl High has captured a massive global audience, largely due to its intricate web of teenage drama, deep character development, and emotionally charged romantic arcs. Set against the backdrop of a highly competitive all-girls academy that recently transitioned to co-education, the series explores the intense, messy, and beautiful realities of adolescent love. Players can often choose how to direct the

In most high school settings, a girl’s romantic life cannot be separated from her platonic circle. Romantic storylines often create tension within female friendships, testing loyalty and forcing characters to balance their time and emotional energy. The most successful narratives highlight how a stable support system of friends is vital for navigating the inevitable heartbreaks of young love.

A breakup at 15 feels like a death. A rumor feels like a life-ruining catastrophe. Don't write 30-year-old relationship problems. The fight over who gets the car for the prom after-party is meaningful drama at this age. Take her small-world problems seriously, and your audience will too.

While traditional tropes remain popular, modern storytellers frequently subvert them to provide fresh commentary on youth culture.

Also, I want to emphasize that it's essential to prioritize safety, respect, and consent when interacting with online content, and to be aware of the potential risks and consequences of downloading or sharing certain types of material.

You may not know this, but for decades, the U.S. EPA has given the water industry an extraordinary gift: the free and open-source hydraulic modeling software EPANET. Odds are, if you've used any commercial hydraulic modeling software today, it was built on the EPANET engine.

The problem is, instead of giving back to their open-source roots like other industries do, big-name software vendors took EPANET's open code, built private tools on top of the engine, and then locked those improvements behind patents and proprietary licenses.

Some vendors even pressured the EPA to focus only on the engine — discouraging any effort to improve the interface or user experience for everyone else.

Those vendors now charge you exorbitant prices to use their software while EPANET lags behind — and utilities, engineers, and educators with smaller budgets suffer.

We think this is backwards — and we're on a mission to change it. We're focused on creating a better experience for the entire hydraulic modeling community.

That's why we built epanet-js under an FSL license — because we want to give you an affordable, easy-to-use water modeling option that creates a sustainable future for open-source EPANET development.
